Eating Well for Good Health and Enjoyment

Most parents are interested in the health and happiness of their kids and truly want to find the best possible way to achieve these goals. There is a lot of pressure - from family, friends, doctors, and the media - to create a certain body size in our kids. While we certainly want to listen to good advice, we must also be aware that everybody - even doctors - can be wrong, especially when it comes to maintaining a healthy diet. The tendency is to focus on "correcting" size.

We take the health of children very seriously here at Size Wise Kids. What we don't accept is that dieting or other severe restrictions are effective in achieving long term goals of healthy weight or happiness. If you are skeptical, click here and take time to read through the stories of people who grew up as chubby children. Then pick up some of material accessible through the links in the left column and find the smarter alternative way of helping your child and your family.

Don't make this about punishment and deprivation. Creating healthy eating should be focused on adding smart choices for the entire family. Focused, excessive restriction will only lead to temporary successes and big trouble down the road.

One of the best thing parents can do for their children - of all sizes - is to offer them food that is both nourishing and enjoyable. Especially with chubby children, the reaction tends to be one of cutting back on foods and completely eliminating entire groups.

Take this job seriously and you will be rewarded with a healthier family all around.

In case you are wondering, we get nothing from the sale or recommendation of these books. We offer them to you because they are the best.
