Toys have been an integral part of our society for a very long time now, with its roots dating back to every civilization that we have been able to unearth. In earlier times, the toys were mainly made of wood and were figures of animals for children to play and learn about the surroundings with. With the age of our being and interference of growing technology, toys have also developed significantly and the latest trend in the toy industry being the introduction of robotics.
The toy robotics technology and its contribution towards children’s toys started way back in the early 1980s when action figures such as transformers were presented with a little mechanism attached within which helped it to make a few moves and produce sounds. As the technology grew and we entered the 21st century, toy robotics also improved a lot and today, there are several smart toys available for children of all ages that are based on the robotics technology and have the toys interact, show lifelike movements and do a lot more.
Over the last few years, the toy robotics technology have gone very smart and can let the toys (robots) interact with children by sensing just a touch or presence of a human being around with help of an infra red sensor. For toddlers and infants, there are penguin and other cute animal robot toys available which can emulate a lot of acts such as blowing a kiss when brought closer to the child’s cheek or make sounds which infants would enjoy up to the fullest. For kids with specific interests, there are robotic toys available such as dinosaur robots for wannabe paleontologists & geologists.
For children who are above the age of ten, there are toy robots which can play video games with them, pass on stuff, and wake you up in the morning and a lot more. The technology has come a long way to prove that toys will always remain the favorite among children of all age and it will not be long before we see our favorite action figures become lifelike robots.
